Psychoanalysis in two sentences: “Think of this as telling your story. The moment you find yourself editing a thought is the moment before revelation” –Diane Bederman

“Think of this as telling your story. The moment you find yourself editing a thought is the moment before revelation”.  This quote is from a lovely blog post “My Freudian Slip into Psychoanalysis” by Canadian Diane Weber Bederman.  Bederman puts her experience as a psychoanalytic patient in the context of other kinds of therapy she has found useful.  She makes a point I strongly agree with– that different forms of therapy are useful at different times.  She is also deftly describes the patient’s experience in psychoanalysis–as well as the significant anxiety everyone feels going into it–in a few short straightforward paragraphs–no mean feat.  The whole blog post is a gem:  http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/diane-bederman/mental-health-psychoanalysis_b_2933817.html
